The Star-Studded Lineup!

… a more varied lineup would be hard to imagine! Spread the word!
From the DEC website (
http://www.dec.org.uk/):

More than five million people have been affected. Families have been left without enough food, water, or shelter, while an estimated million homes have been destroyed or damaged and around a million acres of cropland devastated.
The Disasters Emergency Committee agencies are Action Aid, British Red Cross, CAFOD, CARE International UK, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide, Help the Aged, Islamic Relief, Merlin, Oxfam, Save the Children, Tearfund and World Vision.
Public donations will be used for immediate needs such as food, clean water, medicines and shelter. But the scale of the devastation is so immense that a huge relief and reconstruction effort will be needed over the coming months.

Latest News

Estates is saying we should have access to rehearsal rooms and equipment by late December, so hopefully everything will be in place for the New Year. We shall be situated in the building devoted to the Sports/Drama/Students Union. I'm very much looking forward to getting the groups up and running, and welcoming new participants.

For Sale: One of the Post Grad students has a guitar amp for sale, and I have some items for sale too, so go to www.rmguitar.info/instruments.htm for more info if interested.

Still More Delays

Unfortunately, we still don't have any rehearsal space or storage area for our equipment, and current rumours imply that we might not be able to do much before the Christmas break. It was my intention to have a concert in December, but that seems unlikely.

The good news is that I have been approached by quite a few new students and staff who have expressed an interest and willingness to get involved with any music that is happening - so the future looks good. We just need to get started.

The Open Day seems to have been a success. I had many potential students showing interest. They seemed very impressed with the new campus.

Another piece of good news - the Baby Grand Piano has arrived! Unfortunately, it is in an area which is out of bounds to all but a couple of staff - but that should change quite soon. Fingers crossed.

More news as I get it.
